Absentee Bidding Process - Roadhouse Collectable Auctions

Absentee Bidding Process

1. Overview

Absentee bidding allows registered bidders to participate in an auction without being present in person, online, or by phone. The bidder submits a maximum bid amount in advance, and RCA will execute bids on their behalf up to that amount, aiming to secure the item at the lowest possible price.

2. Absentee Bidder Registration Process

To place an absentee bid, the bidder must:

  • Register for the auction online
  • Complete and submit the Absentee Bidding Registration Form at least 24 hours prior to the auction.
    • Provide valid photo identification.
    • Agree to the auction’s Terms and Conditions.
    • Supply payment details if requested.

3. Bid Execution Process

  • RCA will execute absentee bids competitively, placing incremental bids on behalf of the absentee bidder until the item is either won or the stated maximum is reached.
  • If there are multiple absentee bids on the same lot, the highest bid will take precedence.
  • In the event of identical absentee bids, the bid received first will take priority.
  • Winning absentee bidders are notified soon after the auction’s conclusion.

4. Important Notes

  • Absentee bids are binding and cannot be withdrawn once submitted.
  • RCA is not responsible for errors in submitted bid forms or for bids not received on time.
  • All absentee bids are subject to applicable buyer’s premiums and terms.
  • RCA staff will take all reasonable steps to execute absentee bids accurately and confidentially.
